Jurassic World does not look like a let down to us
Look, Jurassic World looks amazing to me. I was around when the first Jurassic Park movie came out. When the giant raptor talon was clutched between the knuckles of Dr. Alan Grant. And when Grant pulled the talon down the rib-cage of that annoying, interrupting kid. “So, try to show a little respect.” I was lost in the story of the reborn dinosaurs and I absolutely loved the storyline. The story continued and everyone has waited for a sequel. Well, it is finally coming.
This time the story picks up much later and has a Godzilla like twist to it. Like in Jurassic movies past, the plot develops at the idiotic move of a group of people who want to stretch the envelope. A giant, mutant-like dinosaur is the result of attempting to create a dinosaur in a lab genetically engineered setting. I do not think it is necessary to get into whether or not a Christian should venture out to see Jurassic World. But I would love to have somebody weigh in if they really had an opinion about the matter. I do not think that this necessary influences our view of God in any way at all. Not only that, but I believe it safe for believers to watch movies that stretch the imagination, such as it looks Jurassic World will do. Here is the rundown on Jurassic World from IMDB:
Jurassic World Plot
Twenty-two years after the events of Jurassic Park (1993), Isla Nublar now features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park, Jurassic World, as originally envisioned by John Hammond. After 10 years of operation and visitor rates declining, to fulfill a corporate mandate, a new attraction is created to re-spark visitor’s interest, which backfires horribly.
Most people see this as a computer animated flop. People view this as no different than the recent reincarnation of the Ninja Turtles. I am excited about this and will most definitely be visiting the theater for this one. Are you excited to watch Jurassic World? Will you visit the theater?
