Leadership: Extraordinary leaders lead for others
I read a lot of leadership books and when I get an opportunity to read one from a new writer that I have followed for a while, I am even more excited. Although this may be an early entry from Jenni Catron into the leadership genre, it does not mean that it is one that should be overlooked. The 4 Dimensions of Extraordinary Leadership is a great addition to any leader’s library. In it she lays a wonderful foundation that one can apply to their life and propel them into the future.
While I would love to remember where I first heard of Catron, I am not that lucky. Instead, her name was simply engraved in my brain at some point in the past and I knew this book would not disappoint. She has the intellectual knowledge and personal experience needed to be a voice of leadership wisdom. She has had the honor of serving in leadership at two growing and thriving churches.
As a Christian, I believe the best place to draw wisdom from is Scripture and Catron does this through the entire book. It is structured around pulling a word and assigning it a pillar directly from the words of Christ in Luke 10:27. These tenants are able to not only sustain, but also move a leader forward through their life.
If you have managed to find yourself in a leadership position either by choice or by necessity, you would benefit from this book. Though the concepts seem simple, they will require a lifetime to master. By the end of my life, I am not sure that I will have been able to integrate them into my life to the point that I would have wished.

You have the capacity to become an extraordinary leader—if you are willing to embrace a deeper definition of leadership and take action to apply it.
In The 4 Dimensions of Extraordinary Leadership, Jenni Catron, executive church leader and author ofClout, reveals the secrets to standout leadership found in the Great Commandment: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.”
Weaving a winsome narrative filled with inspiring real-life stories, hard-won wisdom, and practical applications, Catron unpacks four essential aspects of growing more influential: your heart for relational leadership, your soul for spiritual leadership, your mind for managerial leadership, and your strength for visionary leadership.
Leadership isn’t easy, but it is possible to move from ordinary to extraordinary. Jenni Catron shows the way.
